Melinda Wilson

Melinda graduated from University of Newcastle in 1985. She served her internship and residency at Gosford District Hospital, where she did registrar terms in Intensive Care, Psychiatry and Paediatrics.
In 1989 she commenced the Family Medicine Programme, completing her General Practice training in 1991.After doing locum general practice work in rural NSW and Perth, as well as Newcastle. Melinda and her husband, Wayne Halpin, settled in Bluey’s Beach on the Mid North Coast of NSW in 1995. Here they established their own general practice and raised their family of three children. Within her practice, Melinda’s particular areas of interest were women’s health and psychological medicine.
In 2008 Melinda and her family moved to the Hunter Valley and Melinda commenced training in phlebology, under the guidance of Dr Naomi Hunter.
Having the opportunity to focus on veins and their treatment has been interesting and stimulating for Melinda, and she has been able to use her experience as a general practitioner to her advantage.
Melinda is a member of the Australian College of Phlebology.
